I was sitting here trying to remember the exact date and ran into this. Our great grandfathers helped build one of the greatest wonders of the world. When you realize that they did before heavy machinery, basically blasted their way through a mountain to join the two oceans, it is something to be both proud of and amazed by. Another year has passed since this site was originally posted. Happy Panama Canal Inauguration day.
