Ancient global language
Posted by Cecilia under: Culture .
Language is one of the human abilities separating us from the animals. Language experienced the same kind of development as many other cultural achievements. Language was transformed from primitive picture-symbols to abstract writing-symbols.
Some time ago archaeologists discovered a collection of symbols carved in stone. They could have been identified as petroglyphs but in fact they appear to be writing. This discovery of ancient writing is not the only reason for excitement. These symbols appear to have been made over an extended period time, beginning around 1,700 BC, and remarkably were located on five continents.
This unique collection was first found in the Negev desert in Israel by Dr. James Harris who identified the symbols as an alphabet.
Within a few years of this discovery, images of similar symbols from many global locations were sent to archaeologists.
Findings in Colorado and Oklahoma include descriptions about a possible solar event of some importance.
According to the scientists these symbols could be the first ancient global language of humans.
