Wonders of nature: new jellyfish found
Posted by Cecilia under: Nature .
We live in the 21st century and researchers are still discovering unknown species almost daily on earth.
The mid-Atlantic ridge is home to hundreds of species which are rare or even unknown elsewhere.
Sometimes researchers have to dive to incredible depths to find new species. That’s exactly what happened recently in the seas near Japan. At a depth of over 20,000 feet researchers found a new type of comb jellyfish. The finding raised new questions, such as what kind of food is available for a predator like the jellyfish.
Nature will always hold mysteries for science, an infinite place for never-ending discoveries.
