Surprising scientific results of a high-fat diet
Posted by Cecilia under: Health; Science .
It’s widely understood that a high-fat and high-carb diet isn’t healthy.
A new study from The University of North Dakota, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense, now seems to contradict that belief. Researchers studied the effects of diet on cognition and flight performance in pilots and found that high-fat and high-carbohydrates diets are significantly better for pilots - improving their short-term memory and flight performance.
What does this study means for us?
Healthy eating is about variety and not about exclusivity. As long as our daily diet includes a broad variety of food of all kinds as well as daily activity our body can easily handle high-fat or high-carbohydrate food. The body can even extract the health benefits of things we don’t normally consider healthy foods.
Staying healthy and keeping our ideal weight is never about a total exclusion of certain food types. On the contrary, its about the healthy mix of a balanced diet and daily activity of whatever kind we like.
This new study just confirms what we live daily: Our goal should be to take all things in balance.
