Psychedelic frogfish discovered
Posted by Cecilia under: Nature; Science .
Divers discovered a new species of fish recently in Indonesia. It jumps up and down on the sea floor like a rubber ball and it’s body is wildly patterned.
This new species of frog-fish got the name “psychedelica” because of its bizarre moves and colors. It’s small as a fist and quite wrinkled.
Researcher Theodore W. Pietsch of the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences of the University of Washington in Seattle noted that the set of behavioral traits of this frog-fish is not previously known and that the unusual pigment pattern likely serves as camouflage for life among the coral reefs.
