Healthy eating habits

Having weight problems can have its roots in unhealthy eating habits.  Here are three tips for healthy eating guaranteed to help lose weight and improve overall health. 

  • Research has shown the number of meals per day is not as important as the total amount of calories you eat per day.  Whatever works best for you is the right amount.  You can eat more frequently when meals are small and low in calories.
  • Eat according to your inner clock.  This means that listening to your body and its signs.  Eat when you’re hungry and have “all the time in the world”.  When you have plenty of time you’ll eat more slowly.
  • Don’t eat late at night.  One reason is that your digestion is resting at this time of day.  What you eat at night won’t be digested until the next morning.  So don’t go to sleep for at least two hours after eating. 

 

The important word in the phrase eating habits lies in the word habits.  Healthy eating habits almost guarantee weight loss and better health.
